THE MASQUERADE
The project entitled The Masquerade portrays young people in the city of Halmstad, Sweden. The lives of busy students, filled with exams, stress, and the search for one’s identity can be left at home for a few hours as one becomes Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
In Halmstad, monthly masquerade parties are often sold out. It’s not an unusual sight to spot a Monk wobbling home late at night along some dark street. The Masquerade is a picture story about the allure to be somebody else, something funnier, if for just one evening. How much more fun it is when you’re not yourself? It’s about expectations, but usually disappointment.
